Silver Gate Elementary School’s 17th annual Hot Rods and Hogs fundraiser raised more funds than ever and set a new milestone in the school’s history of fundraising. The school is located at 1499 Venice Street in Point Loma.

The hot rod and motorcycle-themed silent auction, dinner and dance took place Friday, April 20 at the Liberty Station Conference Center and the proceeds benefit the school’s Friends of Silver Gate Foundation (FSG), a non-profit organization devoted to financially supporting the school’s enrichment programs such as the school’s Eco-lab, classroom assistants, teacher grants, the computer lab and more.

One highlight of the evening included a highly-successful live auction to raise money to bridge the funding gap and help save the school’s seven classroom assistants who will provide extra support to teachers and students next year.
