Christmas Tree Decoration Starts the Holidays in Old Town San Diego

| December 14, 2020 | 0 Comments

This past November, Old Town Market personnel, and volunteers from the Mormon Battalion, helped to set up and decorate the tree at the entrance to Old Town State Historic Park in Old Town San Diego. The Old Town Chamber of Commerce provided the tree and decorations, with funds through a grant from the City of San Diego’s Art and Culture Department.

The Old Town Chamber of Commerce is encouraging people to visit Old Town San Diego during the holidays, and to see the decorations around the community. This 12-foot tree rests at the entrance to the Old Town State Historic Park near the Old Town Market, and will be in place through the end of December.

Each year, the Old Town Chamber of Commerce and the City of San Diego sponsors trees that are placed in the Old Town State Historic Park to help provide decor for the annual Las Posadas procession. Though the event and activities for this year’s Christmas season will look a little different, guests are still encouraged to visit Old Town San Diego, to see the decorations, and buy gifts and food from businesses in the community.
