Lightscape will return for its fourth year to the 37-acre San Diego Botanic Garden from Friday, November 14 through Sunday, January 4. Spanning one mile, the enchanting, illuminated trail has been reinvigorated to feature spectacular sights with brand-new eye-catching artistic installations from international artists, along with some returning favorites from previous years that come alive at night with color, imagination, and sound.

“Lightscape continues to be a holiday tradition that people look forward to every year, and we are thrilled to officially kick off the holiday season with its return to the San Diego Botanic Garden,” said SDBG President and CEO, Ari Novy, PhD. “Our team has loved watching this event grow bigger every year, and cannot wait for everyone to see what this year’s trail has in store. Lightscape offers a unique opportunity for visitors of all ages to celebrate and make memories together.”

The holiday light trails have been dazzling the world’s biggest cities for over ten years, including sold-out runs in London, Chicago, Melbourne, and New York. Set along a beautifully illuminated walking trail custom-designed for San Diego, Lightscape ticket holders will walk a one-mile-long path with tunnels of lights. Reimagined for the 2025 holiday season, the trail will feature the return of fan favorites along with brand-new installations including illuminated California poppies, a field of fireflies, laser garden, and other artistic installations, while enjoying seasonal treats and drinks along the trail. This year will feature the addition of two 21-plus nights on Thursday, November 20 and Thursday, December 4 along with being open on Christmas Eve.

Lightscape is a one-of-a-kind, immersive experience that guides visitors through a festive world of colorful wonder, allowing them to see the Garden in a whole new light. San Diego Botanic Garden is producing Lightscape in association with Sony Music, which amazes millions of people year after year with similar shows in multiple locations across the world, including the U.K. and Australia.
