Old Town San Diego’s most cherished holiday tradition is back. Mark your calendars for 5 p.m., Saturday, December 13 as the community gathers in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park for the 67th Annual Las Posadas—a heartwarming reenactment that has illuminated our neighborhood for generations.

Presented in partnership by the Old Town San Diego Chamber of Commerce, California State Parks, Old Town Trolley Tours, the Mormon Battalion Historic Site, and the Boosters of Old Town, this beloved celebration brings to life the centuries-old story of Mary and Joseph’s search for lodging in Bethlehem.

Guests will enjoy an evening filled with traditional procession, seasonal music, and beautiful Christmas choirs that echo through the historic plaza. Families are invited to arrive early to take part in kids’ holiday crafts, sip on festive refreshments, and soak up the warm, joyful spirit of the season.

The main event will begin at the Colorado House (2735 San Diego Ave.). Guests are encouraged to arrive by 4 p.m. so they can pick up a program, hear the welcome, and join the Las Posadas procession around the Plaza. Afterward, everyone is invited to enjoy hot cocoa, s’mores, ornament-making, and performances by our wonderful choirs.

This free community event invites neighbors and visitors alike to step back in time and experience the magic of Christmas in San Diego’s birthplace. More details are forthcoming—but for now, make sure to save the date and join Old Town San Diego for an unforgettable holiday evening in Old Town. To learn more, visit oldtownsandiego.org.
