Bliss101 Presents Local Surf Icon Rob Machado
Encinitas art and home gallery hosts free launch party
Bliss 101, a unique coastal art gallery, home décor and gift boutique located in downtown Encinitas, launches an exhibit of photography by local surf icon and Cardiff native Rob Machado. The community is invited to a free launch party introducing Machado’s photography. 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday, May 5th at Bliss 101, located at 687 S. Coast Highway 101, Suite 151, in Encinitas.
Bliss 101 will be the first and only local gallery to offer the surfer’s photography, a collection of images from Machado’s worldwide travels as well as his life in Encinitas and Cardiff, for sale to the public. During this event, a percentage of proceeds from sale of Machado’s photography and autographed t-shirts will benefit the Rob Machado Foundation.
The Foundation’s primary mission is to provide funding and initiate educational programs focused on helping children understand their contribution towards a healthy earth. Locally, the Foundation supports various causes, including Cardiff SEA, a program of Cardiff schools working toward enriching students’ educations through an array of green initiatives.

“I’ve been interested in photography for years, always taking photos on my surfing trips, but one of my favorite places to shoot is my hometown area in North County,” says Machado. “Because Bliss 101 supports local artists and the community, it’s a great fit to launch the exhibit of the images I’ve taken throughout the years.”
Machado will be present at Bliss 101 during the May 5th event to mingle with guests and personally autographed t-shirts and prints supporting the Foundation. The evening will include live music, food, drinks and face painters for kids, and Bliss 101’s own collection of locally sourced and reclaimed gifts and décor.
