6th Annual ‘Saving Lives, One Swing at a Time’ Golf Tournament
Shelter to Soldier will host its 6th Annual ‘Saving Lives, One Swing at a Time’ Golf Tournament on Friday, April 25, at Singing Hills Golf Club at Sycuan, located at 3007 Dehesa Road, El Cajon, CA 92019. This annual event, presented by Frontwave Credit Union, supports the nonprofit’s mission of adopting dogs from local shelters and training them as service dogs for post-9/11 veterans experiencing PTSD, TBI, Military Sexual Trauma, or other injuries related to their service.
Attendees will enjoy an afternoon of golf on the beautiful Willow Glen Golf Course, complete with games, competitions, and prizes for all skill levels. Registration will open at 10 a.m. before a shotgun start at 12/noon. The event includes a boxed sandwich lunch, select cocktails, seltzers and beers sponsored by Mike Hess Brewing, as well as event-branded hats and polos, swag bags, and a post-tournament dinner buffet.
Proceeds from this event directly support the shelter dogs and veterans served by the Shelter to Soldier programs. On average, 17 US veterans and 1 active-duty service member are lost to suicide every day and 1800 dogs a day are lost to euthanasia. Shelter to Soldier, whose tagline is “Saving Lives, Two at a Time,” is dedicated to reducing these statistics in every way they can. They bring trained rescue dogs together with wounded veterans to help both recover and move forward through their psychiatric service dog training program.
The ‘Saving Lives, One Swing at a Time’ Golf Tournament is presented by Frontwave Credit Union and also proudly sponsored by Sycuan Casino Resort, Summit Subaru El Cajon, UNITE Hair, and TCW Global, among others. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are currently available. Pricing for the tournament is $310 per individual and $1,200 for a foursome. The helicopter ball drop 50/50 fundraiser is open to anyone and is a great way to participate if you are not able to attend. Registration in the tournament is not required.
