Local Nonprofit Organization Announces Its $20 Million Capital Campaign

The San Diego Automotive Museum is thrilled to announce the launch of their $20 million dollar capital campaign to support the construction of their new building that will expand its facilities and enhance its mission of education, preservation, and inspiration.

The new building will seamlessly connect to the Museum’s existing historic building in Balboa Park and will include approximately 35,000 square feet of additional space. The expansion will include areas dedicated to rotating exhibits, educational programs, and community events, as well as a rooftop reception space with sprawling views of Downtown San Diego and Balboa Park, designed to host special events and gatherings. The project marks a transformative moment in the Museum’s history, opening the door to increased access, deeper community engagement, and expanded collections.

In the past five years, the Museum has focused on significant improvements to its existing building, including the addition of the new Berg Family Library, upgraded flooring, and other critical enhancements. With this foundation now in place, the Capital Campaign sets its sights on the future and on elevating the Museum’s role as a leading cultural and educational institution in San Diego.

The campaign officially launched on June 15 with a generous lead gift of $1 million pledged by Advance Test Equipment Rentals.
