Ashton Gallery in North Park kicks off October with an evening opening reception for Emotion X Connection, the first full collaborative exhibition by artists Anuj Jenveja and Priyanka Pathak. The month-long exhibit is presented alongside the Fall in Love juried show featuring dozens of new regional works. Friends Jenveja and Pathak will present a collection of over 10 expressive figurative acrylic and mixed media paintings, drawing from their professional background as psychotherapists. The duo express nuances of life’s emotional moments using a rich color palette inspired by their South Asian heritage. The event takes  place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 4.  The exhibit dates are from Saturday, October 4 through Friday, October 31 at Ashton Gallery, located at 4434 30th Street, San Diego, 92116.  It’s free and open to the public.

“Emotion X Connection’ series is a meditation on the light and dark experiences of relationships,” said Pathak, who shares visual insights from her own experiences, memories and life transitions. “My work blends a South Asian aesthetic with abstraction, so each piece becomes both deeply personal and culturally rooted. This series challenged me to translate raw emotions into layered, textured forms,” added Jenveja. This exhibit not only features each artist’s individual works, but also “If Only”, a collaborative painting they made especially for this show.

In addition to their background in fine art, Jenveja and Pathak are both mental health professionals who work with individuals and couples throughout California. For Jenveja, painting has become a grounding practice for his own mental health, offering a space for reflection and release. Pathak, who specializes in trauma focused therapy, has been enjoying the challenges of figurative drawings and paintings since her early childhood. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the two artists at the celebratory reception. All paintings from “Emotion X Connection” will be available for viewing and purchase at Ashton Gallery through October 31. For more details, visit https://www.ashtonartgallery.com/exhibits.html
