Daughter of NASA Orbital Mechanics Pioneer to Represent Her Mother at Gala Event

Katherine Johnson, whose groundbreaking calculations in orbital mechanics were instrumental to the success of America’s early crewed space flight programs and the historic Apollo Moon landings, will be represented by her daughter Katherine Moore when Johnson is inducted into the prestigious International Air & Space Hall of Fame at the San Diego Air & Space Museum on Saturday, November 9 at the Edward De. McKellar Pavilion of Flight.

 
Katherine Johnson is joined by a star-studded International Air & Space Hall of Fame Class of 2024, including, Stephen Altemus, co-founder, president and CEO of Intuitive Machines, dedicated to advancing both robotic and human exploration of the Moon, Mars, and beyond; Salvatore T. “Tory” Bruno, president and CEO of United Launch Alliance, the nation’s most reliable and experienced space launch service provider; Larry Mendelson, who built HEICO into a global powerhouse and aerospace giant; and Blake Scholl, founder of Boom Supersonic, at the forefront of transforming future air travel.
 
Guests from around the world are assembling for a spectacular evening of fun and extraordinary recognition, as each guest is treated to a behind the scenes look into the lives of these true air and space legends.

Katherine Moore, daughter of Katherine Johnson, will be present to speak on behalf of her mother.
