The Old Globe Presents “Hair”

The Globe’s first full-scale production in 17 months, since the pandemic, will be directed by James Vásquez with a cast of 16 talented performers. Performances run from Tuesday, August 10 to Sunday, September 26, 2021. Opening Night is at 8 p.m., Sunday, August 15.

The American tribal love-rock musical, “Hair, is made possible due to books and lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado, music by Galt MacDermot, and with choreography by Mayte Natalio, with music direction by Angela Steiner.

The Age of Aquarius dawns again! It’s the summer of love, and a group of young Americans are looking to change the world! Directed by Old Globe Resident Artist James Vásquez, this legendary rock musical bursts onto the outdoor stage with its Grammy Award–winning score, featuring iconic hits such as “Let the Sunshine In,” “Good Morning Starshine,” and the exuberant title song. Make love, not war!—and celebrate “harmony and understanding” with Broadway’s first great rock musical.

“Hair” features a cast of 16 including Alex Joseph Grayson as Hud; Tyler Hardwick as Claude; Storm Lever as Sheila; Angel Lozada as Woof; Jaygee Macapugay as Jeanie; Andrew Polec as Berger; Bailey Day Sonner as Crissy; Leo Ebanks as Ensemble; Luke H. Jacobs as Ensemble; Patricia Jewel as Ensemble; Delaney Love as Ensemble; Alfie Parker, Jr. as Ensemble; Christopher M. Ramirez as Ensemble; Bethany Slomka as Ensemble; and Justine Vásquez as Ensemble. Swings for “Hair”include Nicolette Burton and Kevin Hafso Koppman.
