In its 44th season, California Ballet Company enthusiastically announces a production of “Cinderella” at the San Diego Civic Theatre, Saturday and Sunday, May 5 and 6 in downtown San Diego. Choreographed by Eugene Ballet Artistic Director, Toni Pimble, and featuring Serge Prokofiev’s score, this production boasts a seasoned cast including California Ballet Company Ballerina Chie Kudo and International Guest Artist Vadim Solomakha in the lead roles. Principal Dancers Bernadette Torres and Carlo Di Dio will also be featured.

This ballet was originally created for Oregon’s Eugene Ballet Company, and premiered on the California Ballet Company in 2008. The two ballet companies have a long history of collaboration. Eugene Ballet Artistic Director Toni Pimble first worked with California Ballet during the company’s 25th season in 1993, when she set the one-act ballet, Petrushka. California Ballet’s production of Charles Bennett’s Dracula has been set on Eugene Ballet multiple times. Ms. Pimble’s full length Cinderella was produced for California Ballet Company’s 40th season in 2008, and is now a permanent part of the company’s repertoire.

Cinderella will be performed on May 5 at 7:00 p.m. and May 6 at 1:00 p.m. Tickets may be purchased on line at www.californiaballet.org/cinderella, by phone at (858) 560-6741 or by visiting the California Ballet Company Ticketing Office at 4819 Ronson Court in San Diego.
