San Diego, CA – Mark Christopher Lawrence, well known as Big Mike on NBC’s Chuck, hosts his monthly “Mark Christopher Lawrence Presents” comedy night at the San Diego House of Blues. On Wednesday, January 18, the lineup will include Matin Atrushi, Jimmy Burns and Scott Wood, with musical guest San Diego’s own DJ Mikey Beats. The evening kicks off with a red carpet walk beginning at 6:30 p.m. and the fun begins at 7:00 p.m.

December’s show saw comics Annie Wiebe, Gulden and Marc Patrick bring the house down with their observations on life and relationships. While the humor can get edgy, “Mark Christopher Lawrence Presents” prides itself on comedy without the need for blue language.“I will come and see EVERY show Mark hosts!” says one new fan. “I was at the December show, and it brought down the house!”

San Diego has long been a destination for the Hollywood set, and you can expect to see big names join Mark on the red carpet at House of Blues. Among the guests who have graced the crowd have been Barry Shabaka Henley, Brandon Murphy, Celebrity Chef Betsy G., Deborah Dimery, Michael Warren, Mikey Beats, Jenny Beats and Rob Deez.
Matin Atrushi, who has shared the stage with Robin Williams and Chris Rock, brings a unique and personal perspective on the experience of being Middle Eastern in America to his routines. Jimmy Burns, “The Teacher Comedian,” has toured with George Lopez, Arsenio Hall, Brad Garrett, and the late Richard Jeni. Scott Wood is perhaps best known for the rapid-fire comic delivery that has earned him the title of “Mr. Punchline,” with runs of more than eight jokes per minute.
