Monarch Fine Art of La Jolla will host a special event for the La Jolla Festival of the Arts™ (LJFA) from 5 to 9 p.m., Friday, March 21, featuring Andre Desjardins, internationally-renowned painter and sculptor. The event will be held at Monarch Fine Art of La Jolla, 1205 Prospect Street, Suite A, La Jolla, CA 92037, with the artist’s live demonstration at 6:30 p.m.

Guests will meet the artist and enjoy appetizers, fine wine, craft beer, Monarch Signature French Vietnamese Coffee, and live entertainment as they browse Desjardins’ collection of work. Merging human expression and emotion into gripping images on canvas and in bronze, Desjardins’ work can be classified as both expressionist and humanist, while fusing the figurative with the abstract. The artist will speak about his technique and do a live demonstration of his clay sculpting.

Proceeds from the event will support this year’s LJFA and its mission to produce the highest quality art and entertainment event while funding programs for San Diegans with disabilities.

Desjardins was born in the small Canadian town of Hauterive, Quebec. He holds a bachelor’s degree in art from the University of Quebec in Montreal, and is the founder of his unique artistic style called “Visual Emotionism.”

Tickets are $75 per person, or $125 per couple, and can be purchased at www.ljfa.org. Complimentary underground parking is available. Attendees will receive a Monarch Fine Art gift certificate and two complimentary tickets to the LJFA, June 21 to 22 at UC San Diego’s Warren Field.

For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.ljfa.org.
