Celebrate An Old Fashioned Fourth of July at State Historic Park
California State Parks invites you to step back in time and celebrate an old fashioned Fourth of July at Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, located at 4002 Wallace Street. This family-friendly event offers a unique opportunity to experience Independence Day as early San Diego residents did in the 1800s, with a day full of games, crafts, live music, and more.
The celebration will take place from11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday, July 4, 2024. Admission is free, though some activities may require an additional purchase.
The 4th of July activities include:
? Kick off the festivities with a patriotic flag raising.
? Hear from park staff and special guests as they welcome visitors.
? Enjoy live musical performances at three different locations within the park, including Plaza Stage, Fiesta de Reyes and Casa de Maria
? Games for all ages will include hoop toss, game of Graces
? Craft activities and creations that include corn husk cloth dolls and traditional dolls, create and take home a unique bracelet
? Contests, including tug of war, sack race, egg race, wheelbarrow races, and marble contest
? Demonstrations that include spinning and weaving, community quilt, blacksmith, archaeological historical digs and explorations in Old Town.
Parking is available throughout Old Town San Diego. Additional parking is available at the CalTrans headquarters, located just two blocks from the park at 2994 Sunset Street.
