The San Diego County Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk (ARCC), Jordan Z. Marks’ Taxpayer Advocate Office led by Martin Arias, will host a Disabled Veterans Resource Fair in advance of Veterans Day on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at National University in Scripps Ranch campus, located at 9980 Carroll Canyon Road, with a kickoff ceremony starting at 9 a.m. until 12 noon.

This event will bring together government agencies, non-profit organizations, and community partners to connect veterans and their families with benefits, services, and resources in one convenient location. The Assessor’s Office will offer a property tax savings workshop for disabled veterans.

Attendees will also have access to “on-site services” and resources from participating agencies and organizations, including the California Department of Motor Vehicles, Social Security Administration, Military and Veterans Affairs Office, and GOVX, which provides exclusive discounts and benefits for veterans, military members, first responders, and their families, and other community partners. Additional resources will include assistance with veterans benefits and VA appeals, employment and volunteer opportunities, educational resources, health and human services, County contracting opportunities, and free haircuts.

San Diego County Assessor/Recorder/ County Jordan Marks said, “As your elected advocate, my office is laser-focused on ensuring San Diegans, especially our veterans, receive every possible property tax saving possible to make homeownership more affordable,” said Marks. “My office is number one in California for serving our disabled veterans and their families. In 2026, we delivered over $40 million in property tax savings to our San Diego County veteran families because making their homeownership more affordable is my way of honoring their service and sacrifice.”

California State Treasurer Fiona Ma, will kick off the event at 9 a.m., discussing efforts to advocate for lower taxes for disabled veterans in California. This year’s event was made possible thanks to the sponsor National University, Kaiser Permanente and Peterson’s Donut Corner. Registration is appreciated but not required.
