The highly anticipated Switchfoot Bro-Am is back for its 22nd year, once again bringing together music lovers, surfers, families, and changemakers for a weekend dedicated to supporting underserved youth throughout San Diego County. Hosted by the Grammy award-winning rock band Switchfoot, the weekend-long celebration will kick off with the Benefit Party on Thursday, June 11 at Viasat in Carlsbad, followed by the free, open to the public, family-friendly Beach Fest on Saturday, June 13 at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas.

Since its inception in 2005, Bro-Am has grown from a grassroots local gathering to one of Southern California’s most beloved philanthropic traditions, raising over $3M for local nonprofit organizations serving unhoused, at-risk and disadvantaged youth through programs centered around food security, education, music, art, mentorship, wellness, and community programs.

“Bro-Am has always been about celebrating community and showing up for kids in need,” said Switchfoot’s Tim Foreman. “What started as a local gathering has grown into an incredible movement of people coming together to create hope, opportunity, and connection for the next generation.”

Kicking off the 22nd annual festivities is the Switchfoot Bro-Am Benefit Party, held on Thursday, June 11, which brings together supporters for an elevated evening soiree featuring a curated lineup of bites and pours from some of the region’s best and most loved culinary and beverage partners, exclusive live and silent auction packages, live entertainment, and intimate performances by Switchfoot and special guests. Known for its laid-back atmosphere and meaningful fundraising efforts, the Benefit Party serves as a cornerstone of the Bro-Am weekend while directly supporting youth-focused initiatives throughout the region.

The main event, the Switchfoot Bro-Am Beach Fest, held on Saturday, June 13, will once again bring thousands to Moonlight Beach for a full day of live music, surf, and family-friendly entertainment. Guests can look forward to performances headlined by Switchfoot, appearances by special musical guests, surf contests, interactive brand activations, local vendor booths, and opportunities to connect with the nonprofit beneficiaries making a difference across San Diego County. Signature Beach Fest events returning this year include the Rob Machado Bro-Junior Contest showcasing talented young local surfers, the crowd-favorite Surf Joust Battle, and the Adaptive Surf Youth Program presented by Challenged Athletes Foundation, which helps empower and inspire the next generation of adaptive surfers.

The 2026 beneficiaries include charitable groups such as A Step Beyond, Challenged Athletes Foundation, Feeding San Diego, Monarch School, Rady Children’s Hospital, and Save The Music Foundation. Together, these organizations provide life-changing programs and critical resources that empower local youth to thrive.

In continued alignment with its longstanding commitment to environmental stewardship, Bro-Am will again implement comprehensive sustainability initiatives throughout the weekend. As a proud one percent for the Planet Environmental Partner, the event will feature zero-waste efforts, composting and recycling stations managed by the Bro-Am Green Team, and water refill stations provided in partnership with the Rob Machado Foundation to help eliminate single-use plastics.

Now entering its 22nd year, the Switchfoot Bro-Am remains one of Southern California’s most beloved traditions, uniting the community through music, surfing, and purpose. This event is made possible by the unwavering support of sponsors, partners, volunteers, donors, and attendees dedicated to creating brighter futures for local youth.

With over 10 million albums sold, including their three-time Platinum breakthrough “The Beautiful Letdown” and GRAMMY Award-winning “Hello Hurricane,” the beloved band has built a global following through emotionally resonant songwriting and electrifying live performances, selling more than five million tickets across 40-plus countries. With a renewed focus on the present moment, the band delivers their first record in five years, Forever Now – their fourteenth studio album, due June 26. A bold, guitar-driven return to their classic sound, the project serves as their most thematic and narrative-driven work to date, centering on the emotional roller coaster of a person’s final day on Earth. Produced by longtime collaborator Mike Elizondo, Forever Now captures the band’s rekindled love of “big guitars, big hooks and big themes,” while pushing their storytelling to new heights. Beyond the music, Switchfoot continues to make a meaningful impact through their Bro-Am Foundation, which has raised over $3 million over the past 20 years to support at-risk youth in the band’s hometown of San Diego. Switchfoot has always called themselves a band of brothers – Jon Foreman (vocals/guitar), Tim Foreman (bass), Boaz Roberts (guitar), Jerome Fontamillas (keys/guitar) and Chad Butler (drums).
