| May 11, 2020 | 0 Comments

The San Diego Museum of Art is providing a variety of ways to continue its mission to inspire, educate and cultivate curiosity through online channels, including its mobile app, YouTube channel, social media and a brand new podcast series.

Here are some suggestions for how readers can still access art and programming from home:

  • Masterpiece Minute Podcast – Listen to a 60-second mini podcast led by Museum curators spotlighting works of art from the Museum’s collection, including masterpieces by Juan Sánchez Cotán, Diego Rivera and more. Listeners are invited to tune in every Friday at 10 a.m. for their daily dose of art on the SDMA websiteSpreaker or social media.
  • SDMA mobile app – Offers virtual tours (from the lower rotunda to the galleries and the building’s façade), access to the Museum’s collections, audio clips, games and more.
  • Social Media – The Museum has started ramping up its social channels, including InstagramFacebook and Twitter to feature additional works of art with the public.

The Museum is currently closed until further notice. Please visit the SDMA website for the latest information regarding reopening.

“Simone in Blue Bonnet,” by Mary Cassett, circa 1930, France, is oil in canvas. It is a discussion topic via social media coverage provided by The San Diego Museum of Art.
