Villa Musica, San Diego’s Community Music Center serving San Diegans of all ages announces their 2025 summer camps, which run from Monday, June 2 through Friday, August 8 and serve students from ages five to 17.  Camps take place at Villa Musica in Sorrento Valley, at the La Jolla Country Day School. Villa Musica Summer Camps for young and aspiring musicians provide a nurturing and exploratory environment for musical growth. Camps are tailored by mixing the classic summer camp fun with independent learning and musical expertise. Villa Musica will also be offering a free Mariachi Camp for intermediate violin, guitar, trumpet, and voice students ages 12 to 17 at Our Lady of Angels School.

Summer Camps at Villa Musica give students the opportunity to explore their “inner musician” in an environment of nurture and belonging. As a non-profit, Villa Musica makes all programming accessible by providing needs-based financial aid for tuition support. Summer Camps are a great way to discover whether your child is interested in making music a part of their life.

“Our camps are such a great introduction to the world of music. Some students come with zero experience, and leave with a passion. Friendships are formed, and curiosity sparked. We’ve had students come for a week and stay for ten years.” says Fiona Chatwin, Villa Musica’s founder/executive director. “We just love the summer, at Villa Musica. My favorite part is seeing our older students working as counselors and encouraging the little ones. Their mentorship is so sweet, and I just know that they see themselves in the new, nervous, children that arrive each Monday morning. The evolution of camper to student to mentor to intern inspires such an inclusive environment at Villa Musica. I’m so proud of this.”

Full day camps run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, hosted at two locations: Villa Musica in Sorrento Valley at 10373 Roselle Street, Unit 170, 92121 and La Jolla Country Day School (LJCDS) campus at 9490 Genesee Avenue, La Jolla, 92037. In addition, the free Mariachi Camp will take place at Our Lady of Angels School 650 24th Street, San Diego, CA 92102. Early drop off (8:30 a.m.) and late pick up (up to 5 p.m.) can be accommodated for a fee of $10 per hour. Please communicate your pickup needs with registration. Every Camp culminates with a recital on Fridays at 3 p.m.
