Mark Christopher Lawrence Hosts June 15 Mic Drop Comedy Show

San Diego, CA (For Release) – Actor, comedian and producer Mark Christopher Lawrence, best known for his series regular role as Big Mike on the NBC TV series CHUCK, will host a comedy show in the Main Showroom at Mic Drop Comedy on Thursday, June 15. The show will feature headliner Scott Woods with Lisa Gilbert and Brendan Jay. There is a red carpet before the show, and doors open at 7:00 p.m. with show time at 8:00 p.m. 

An international headliner who has worked with the likes of Sinbad, Jerry Seinfeld, Rodney Dangerfield, and Jeff Foxworthy, Mark Christopher Lawrence was the 2012  recipient of the San Diego Critics Circle’s Craig Noel Award for Outstanding Actor Of The Year. He has been nominated for two Emmy Awards for his work on the short film “The Flourish” and on his co-produced short “$TACK$.” He recently completed production on the Tyler Perry TV drama “All The Queens Men,” which streamed on BET+, and will star in the upcoming PurFlix mini-series “Fragment: Oblivion.”

Headliner Scott Wood is perhaps best known for the rapid-fire comic delivery that has earned him the title of “Mr. Punchline,” with runs of more than eight jokes per minute. Scott has performed at such venues as The Ice House, The Comedy Store, and The Laugh Factory, and was named Stand Up Comedy Champion at the Improv Comedy Club. 

Since hitting the stage in 2016, Lisa Gilbert has developed a following as a clean comedy performer. In 2020 she retired from a 25-year career to devote more time to her triplets and her comedy career. She now appears at clubs around the country. 

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Brendan Jay joined the U.S. Navy and is currently stationed in San Diego. He has performed his stand up routine featuring observations on dating and military life at venues around Southern California.
