A Commitment to Supporting Father Joe’s 5K

For over 30 years, Allen Matkins has established itself as a prominent law firm in San Diego County specializing in real estate, land use, environmental, finance, litigation, as well as other practices. The firm continues to support community efforts in providing more affordable housing and regularly contributing to community service activities.

Allen Matkins’ staff first start participating in Father Joe’s 5K as a means to make a “firm-wide” effort to engage more with the local community.  The San Diego Community Outreach Committee is always looking for new opportunities to get Allen Matkin’s attorneys and staff out of the office in support of worthy causes.  The race, because it is so well-established, was a no-brainer to get participants signed up and to keep it going year after year.  It has become a part of our firm’s ongoing programming and – more importantly – a part of many Allen Matkins’ family members’ holiday traditions.

“Allen Matkins recognizes the importance of giving back to the communities in which we work and live. This year, we continued our tradition of supporting Father Joe’s Villages by walking or running with family and loved ones, even though it was at a distance. It’s our way of giving thanks for our blessings while also supporting those less fortunate,” offered Heather Riley, who is a partner at the firm and chair of the San Diego Community Outreach Committee.

This year 52 people represented Allen Matkins in Father Joe’s 5K and raised nearly $2,000.

Allen Matkins’ San Diego Operating Officer Mike Holmes and his wife, Mary, participate in the 2020 Father Joe’s Villages’ “Do It Your Way” 5K.
