Phillip Stull, former owner of L.B. Powers and Son Plumbing Co., Inc. (Powers Plumbing), passed away on March 26, 2026.

Stull devoted more than five decades to Powers Plumbing, joining the company after serving in the Navy. Early in his career, he singlehandedly installed thirteen miles of copper piping at Holy Cross Cemetery—just one example of the craftsmanship and dedication he brought to his work.

He later purchased the company from Jack Dietrich and led it until his retirement in 2010, continuing afterward as an ex officio member of the board. Stull was known not only for his integrity and skill, but for his deep loyalty to his family, friends, and customers—many of whom became lifelong friends.

“Knowing Phil changed my life in many ways,” said Janet O’Dea. “He had unwavering confidence in my ability to carry forward the business he built and cared deeply about serving our neighbors and customers.”

In 2021, Powers Plumbing was sold and has since relocated from West Lewis Street.
