San Diego Automotive Museum holds New Exhibit, “Cars with Character”
The San Diego Automotive Museum, San Diego’s premier transportation museum, will be premiering a new exhibit “Cars with Character” through Sunday, September 25. Cars and motorcycles on display play many roles in TV and film, acting as characters, settings, plot devices, or backgrounds. This exhibit showcases the distinct looks and abilities of an amazing variety of cars that are used in films and TV.
These iconic vehicles are featured in a wide variety of movie and show genres, reflecting characters and letting filmmakers tell stories in relatable ways.
The “Cars with Character” Exhibit has something for everyone, from the Mystery Machine to K.I.T.T. Some of the rare cars in this exhibit include:
• Darth Vader Hot Wheels
• X-Wing Hot Wheels
• Speed Racer model
• Ecto – 1 from Ghostbusters
• K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider series
• Mystery Machine model
• Pizza Planet truck from Toy Story
• Jurassic Park Jeep
Since 1988, the mission of the San Diego Automotive Museum is to tell the story of the social and technological past, present, and future of motorized vehicles throughout its collections, exhibitions, and educational programs.
