Valentine’s Day Six-Course Prix Fixe Dinner
University Heights’ new absinthe bar and “bistronomie,” Wormwood, will open at 5 p.m. on Monday, February 14 to offer an exclusive, six-course prix fixe dinner experience in its Parisian-style dining room and outdoor garden patio. Priced at $100 per person, the night’s special menu will include Bahia Falsa oysters with champagne and caviar; Baja striped bass crudo in passionfruit chileatole with pickled cucumber and crispy brisket; beets with duck liver mousse, blood orange and endive; local Petrale sole meunière with artichoke hearts and purslane; aged Liberty Farms duck breast and mushroom-stuffed quail with confit chile relleno and pomegranate; and for dessert, an absinthe flambéed Baked Alaska comprised of chocolate chaud cake, red pistachio bombe, raspberry sorbet and maraschino cherries.
Wine pairings selected especially for this prix fixe menu will be available for an additional charge, or guests can order from Wormwood’s menu of classic and crafty cocktails – including the pink-hued Le Volcan made with absinthe and tequila blanco and featuring pomegranate, watermelon and pink peppercorn lava salt.
Weekend guests are also in luck! Wormwood’s prix fixe Valentine’s menu is also available the preceding Saturday and Sunday alongside a limited version of the restaurant’s nightly dinner menu.
Reservations are highly encouraged and can be booked at www.wormwoodsd.com.
