San Diego, CA, November 7, 2012 [Press Release] – Talented teen singer and songwriter Giovana will perform at Culture Shock Dance Center’s Cabaret Night at UCSD’s Mandeville Center on Saturday, November 10. The event is a special presentation by the Center and will feature performances by local youth and teen artists, with a special guest appearance by comedian Mal Hall.

Growing up surrounded by art, culture and music, Giovana began to express her own creativity early in life. She first began singing for her family and friends at age nine and quickly developed her own special style. By age ten she was writing her own songs and including them in her performances.

Realizing that her talent should be shared with others, Giovana’s family approached the world-renowned Signature Studios in San Diego, Calif. Having worked with such recording artists as U2, Akon and Blink 182, the studio heads quickly recognized Giovana’s exceptional qualities. She has since recorded several songs and will be releasing an EP in the coming weeks.

“I feel very excited to be performing at the Culture Shock Dance Center Cabaret Night,” said Giovana. “I have been working in the studio quite a bit recently, so it’s good to get out and perform for a live audience again.”

Culture Shock Dance Center is a premier contemporary dance studio in San Diego, providing dancers of all levels with the training to help them fulfill their potential. In order to provide a venue for talented local artists, the Center held a virtual contest for singers and dancers. After her submission was reviewed, Giovana was added to the event’s list of performers.

“I’m a little nervous, but I know I’ll shake it off once I’m on stage,” Giovana admitted.

Culture Shock Dance Center’s Cabaret Night takes place on Saturday, November 10, at UCSD Mandeville Center, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 pre-sale or $20 at the door (cash only). More information is available at
