The holiday season in San Diego wouldn’t be complete without the Little Italy Tree Lighting and Christmas Village, returning on Friday, December 6th from 4pm to 8pm for an evening filled with festive cheer, family fun, and community spirit. This beloved annual tradition transforms the neighborhood into a winter wonderland as lights twinkle above India Street and the sounds of holiday music fill the air.

Guests can stroll through a massive Christmas Village along India Street, featuring more than 110 local vendors offering everything from handcrafted gifts to festive treats. The neighborhood’s shops and restaurants will also be joining in on the celebration with festive décor and even a few Christmas-themed specials, adding to the vibrant and cozy holiday atmosphere that makes Little Italy such a special place this time of year.

The festivities will include live entertainment and plenty of opportunities for photos, including a visit from Santa Claus himself, who will be posing for pictures with families. The evening will culminate in a tree lighting ceremony at 6:30 pm in the Piazza della Famiglia, where the community will gather to see the neighborhood’s Christmas tree come to life. Guests can also stop by Piazza Basilone to see Little Italy’s own custom Aurora tree designed by Josh Hubert, a glowing art installation that has become one of Little Italy’s signature holiday highlights.
