SACRA/PROFANA, San Diego’s premiere professional choral ensemble, presents Immeasurably Bright, a holiday concert celebrating light, love, and renewal. One performance only at 7 p.m., Friday, December 12 at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, located at 3502 Clairemont Drive in San Diego.

Immeasurably Bright draws inspiration from Mari Esabel Valverde’s Winter Ride, a piece evoking the dazzling brilliance of sunlight on snow. The concert captures the spirit of the season, blending cherished traditions with exciting new works. Familiar favorites meet fresh voices in a joyful reflection on love, light, and hope.

Featured music will be a dynamic mix of traditional and contemporary pieces, including a gospel arrangement of “Silent Night” by Brandon Waddles, Morten Lauridsen’s beloved “O Nata Lux,” Karen Marolli’s “Until Love is Spoken,” and the West Coast premiere of “Three Points of Light” by Grayston Ives, a new commission from King’s College, Cambridge.

“Immeasurably Bright embodies everything I love about this season,” said Juan Carlos Acosta, artistic director of SACAR/PROFANA. “The meeting of old and new, the light that returns in darkness, and the joy of discovery. Each piece feels like unwrapping a gift, familiar, yet full of surprise and wonder.”

SACRA/PROFANA presents world-class choral music by combining technical mastery with a dedication to diversity and inclusion. The ensemble is acclaimed for its range, merging pop, classical, and contemporary works with a commitment to amplify the artistic voices of women and underrepresented communities alongside traditional repertoire.

Tickets for SACRA/PROFANA’sImmeasurably Bright run $15 – $40 with discounts available for students, seniors, and military, and are available at sacraprofana.org.
