Center for Community Solutions Raises over $187,000 at Virtual Event

Center for Community Solutions (CCS) has raised more than $187,000 through the recent Raise a Cup for CCS virtual event. The funds raised will be used to further CCS’ mission to provide intervention, healing, advocacy, and prevention programs and services for individuals affected by domestic violence and sexual assault.

“Calls to our crisis hotline have increased a stunning 64 percent since March 2020 due to the current pandemic,” said Verna Griffin-Tabor, CEO of Center for Community Solutions. “These have been especially challenging times for the CCS emergency shelters and programs. We are grateful that the community answered CCS’ calls for help so that we can continue our mission to end relationship and sexual violence in San Diego.”

Contributions allowed CCS to claim a full $20,000 match from The Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, putting the growing total for the fundraiser over $187,000. Raise a Cup for CCS will continue to accept donations through December 31. Gifts of any amount will help to save and change lives.
