dizzy’s Offers a Lineup of Talented Performers

During November 2023, dizzy’s, located at 1717 Morena Boulevard, behind the Musicians Union Building at Arias Hall, has an impressive group of talented musicians scheduled to perform.

At 8 p.m. Saturday, November 4, award-winning trumpeter Curtis Taylor returns to San Diego with the University of Iowa Professors of Jazz for an exciting one night only performance.  Cost is $20 cash.

At 8 p.m., Friday Nov 10, The Cecil Alexander & Brian Levy Group spotlight The Music of Wes Montgomery, featuring Cecil Alexander on guitar, Brian Levy on tenor saxophone, Mack Leighton on bass, and Kevin Kanner on drums. Cost is $20 cash.

At 8 p.m., Saturday Nov 11, jazz pianist/arranger Joshua White and his trio will perform with Rob Thorsen on bass, and Tyler Kreutel on drums.  This will continue The Great American Songbook Composer Series, featuring The Music of Billy Strayhorn. Cost is $20 cash.

At 7 p.m., Sunday, November 19, the Brasil Jazz Festa – 15th annual celebration of Brazilian Jazz & Culture returns. This year the event features acclaimed Bay Area Brazilian duo Natalie Cressman (trombone, voice and Ian Faquini (guitar, voice), with the Danny Green Trio (Danny Green on piano, Justin Grinnell on bass, and Julien Cantelm on drums), and Festa producer Allison Adams Tucker singing. Reserved seating at $25 each.

At 8 p.m., Thursday, November 30, a special Duo concert will feature Alize Rozsnyai soprano and Alyze Dreiling on violin. Cost is $20 cash.
