The 19th Annual La Jolla Concours d’Elegance, presented by LPL Financial, will kick off its world-renowned weekend of automotive excellence with the famed Friday VIP Soirée on April 25, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the Concours lawn at Ellen Browning Scripps Park. This year’s soirée, themed “Beyond the Barn: A Gilded Journey to Restoration,” invites guests into an enchanting world where forgotten relics are reborn as gleaming masterpieces, celebrating the artistry of automotive restoration and the limitless spirit of reinvention.
With a new, innovative and immersive theme each year, this year’s “Beyond the Barn” motif evokes the thrill of uncovering a long-lost ‘barn find’ – a rare and storied automobile hidden away for decades, awaiting restoration – and celebrates the transformative process that revives its timeless beauty.
Upon entering through weathered barn doors, guests will find themselves transported to an immersive realm where rustic nostalgia meets opulent grandeur. Plush velvets, shimmering metallics, antique saddles reimagined as art, and vintage car mascots reborn as whimsical carousel wonders will set the scene. Towering oak trees and elegant lounges frame the evening, while artisanal cocktails are crafted from imaginative, restoration-inspired installations. Adding to the enchantment, guests will step into a scene of rustic elegance reimagined, where miniature donkeys, Highland cows, and llamas adorned with floral garlands and velvet halters create an unforgettable photo opportunity—blending barnyard whimsy with extravagant charm.
