For these and other efforts, Master Cashion received the Presidential Sports Award in Karate from President George H.W. Bush in 1991 and President Bill Clinton in 1999, as well as the Texas Martial Arts Award from Senator Mike Moncrief in 2000.Since 1998 Master Cashion has been teaching karate in the Christian Soldiers Karate program, a faith-based martial arts program. Christian Soldiers Karate seeks to develop both the physical and spiritual dimensions of its participants, and includes Bible study in its belt training. As an instructor in the program, Master Cashion has worked with hundreds of students to develop their skills and abilities.

“The first person I would like to thank is our Lord Jesus for allowing me to teach karate for free for the past 20 plus years. It is my passion and a gift that I am able to teach without charging. My inspiration has been Grand Master J. Pat Burleson, who handed down his knowledge and wisdom to others who boosted me on my way; they are GM Billy Brammer, GM Billy Smith, and GM Derrick Hayes. They have all been instrumental in helping me get where I am today! I also want to thank my lovely wife Summer for putting up with what she now fondly calls her ‘Ninja.’”
